Castellammare del Golfo, a nice town with many good restaurants and shops, is 3 kms away.

Scopello, a stone village by the sea where you can find shops, restaurants, markets and … friendly locals, is just 5 kms away.

Scopello is one of the two entrances (the other is San Vito Lo Capo) of the most important and fascinating natural reserve in Sicily: Zingaro, where one can enjoy many “tropical” sandy beaches.

Segesta (photo) a greek colony of the past, is 20 kms away.

Trapani, a very nice town, almost 30 km’s away.

From Trapani departs the ferry for the amazing Egadi islands.

Custonaci a lovely town, famous all over the world for its fine marble, it 15 kms away.

Just 20 km’s and here it is San Vito Lo Capo, a masterpiece of tourism in Sicily with its gorgeous sandy beaches.

Erice (photo) that will get you in the middle ages, is 30km’s away. This medieval town is said the “town of love”, since here there was an eternal fire, just on top of the mountain, that from the VII B.C. attracted the sailors of the Mediterranean, due to the presence of the “ancelle di Venere” (handmaids of Aphrodite). You can still see the Pozzo di Venere (from where the eternal fire emanated) in the courtyard of the castle. In Erice you can have a walk in the past, along its narrow alleys, the megalithic town walls and … the Ericini (cookies)!!!

Palermo, the wonderful capital of Sicily, is 50 kms away.

40 kilometers away from the villa you can approach Marsala and the Stagnone an archipelago where stands the island of Mozia, a masterpiece of archaeology and nature.

Are you hungry?

That’s my menù: Cous Cous with fish

The Busiate pasta : or alla trapanese; or with the Zerro Grattato (fish); or with ragù di Maiale (pork); or allo scoglio (with sea fruits)

Pane condito “cunzatu” and a Rianata (a sort of pizza).

Sweets: sfinge; cassatelle fritte; biscotti di fico; cannoli siciliani; pasta reale; gelati and granite.

Northern Ireland (Mammasicily)
This was our first time to Sicily and when I found MammaSicily online we took a while to settle on a property as all of them were so beautiful! We decided with Mamma Aura and we were very glad we did!
The booking and communication with MammaSicily was excellent and I would completely recommend them to anyone wanting to book a holiday property in Sicily.
I found them to be better value than Airbnb and Vrbo along with that personal touch which makes all the difference.
Our family of 5 spent just over 2 weeks here at Mamma Aura.
The property was immaculately clean, I would go as far as saying it’s the cleanest property we’ve ever stayed in, thanks to the wonderful owners Rosy and her parents. The pool also was cleaned early every morning which was great.
The view from this place is amazing! Which is why we spent a lot of our time at the property. It’s very spacious inside and out with everything you would need for a relaxing holiday. The outdoor kitchen and bbq is great and we ate outside in the covered dining area every day with the spectacular view.
The house is a 5 minute drive to the local town of Castellammare del Golfo which is a very beautiful coastal town with a harbour.
Plenty of restaurants, supermarkets and bakeries right on your doorstep.
The house is on the hill up from the town which unlike the town gets all day sun right until sunset!
Looking forward to returning some day!
Thank you Rosy, and thank you MammaSicily!
