Mamma Olivia
Villa
Like a ship gliding on the Ionian sea! Mamma Gina is modern and well maintained, but it’s all about location, and this one is finely placed, with the smell of the sea in the air. The property features a bright open plan kitchen and dining area, with a gorgeous view of the Catania gulf and Etna volcano. The sleeping area features four double bedrooms (all with ensuite and AC) and a twins (ensuite and AC). Mamma Gina is also provided with two dependances: one with AC, a double bed and two singles; and one reserved for the fitness area. The exterior of the villa is an embrace to the Ionian coast with one of the best ever Sicilian panorama. Mamma Gina got also a private access to the beach and a fully equipped BBQ area.Pictures better than the words explain the beauty of this exclusive place so check it out!

MAMMA’S ANGELS TIP: Alessandra (who will welcome you at this villa): “I wish you to enjoy an Etna eruption from this house: will be one of the greatest experience of your life”
By Giovanni Vallone (President of MammaSicily, writer, author)
This gorgeous villa is located in Brucoli, a very nice fishermen village where you can enjoy, along the promenade, restaurants, coffe, shops...
Just two kilometers away here it is the sandy beach of Agnone Bagni.
We are in the eastern side of Sicily, the homeland of Etna volcano the biggest one in Europe: lava flows, caves, forests...
I suggest enjoying our Etna tour
We are halfway between Catania and Syracuse, both 30 km's away.
In Catania I suggest parking the car at Piazza Alcalà and then have a walk starting from the worldwide famous Pescheria (photo, outdoor fish market), then to Piazza Duomo (the hearth of Catania) then walking the Via Etnea, the main street of the town, a pedestrian road with many shops, cafe and wonderful buldings in Baroque style. In via Etnea there is also the Roman amphitheatre (in Piazza Stesicoro) and the Villa Bellini (Catania's public garden).
The Playa of Catania (beach) is roughly 20 km's away and is close by Piazza Duomo.
In this area there are many lidos (private beaches where you can rent umbrellas, deckchairs, restaurant, pool ...) and I suggest enjoying the Lido Verde, partner of MammaSicily.
Other places that worth a visit, in Catania area, are: Acitrezza and Acicastello (5 km’s), both fishermen hamlets, where the lava flows of millenia ago has shaped the landscape: in Acicastello you can find a stunning castle in lava stone overhanging the sea and in Acitrezza the Faraglioni (sea stacks).
Siracusa (Unesco’s), and its Greek masterpieces it’s roughly 30 km’s away.
The downtown of Siracusa is the wonderful island of Ortigia : a masterpiece of beauty.
The nice Syracuse, among the most visited towns of Sicily
Another tip is the visit of Pantalica (Unesco’s, 20 kms), with its more than 3000 graves carved on the rock, a river, a forest and a sort of mistery all around.
Taormina, the pearl of Sicily, is roughly 60 km’s away: it’s a magic place with the amazing Isolabella (photo) and its narrow streets rich in history, a sort of vintage atmosphere and fashion: cool!
If you are nature lovers, here there are two great places: Vendicari (50 km's) and Cavagrande del Cassibile (30 km's) where nature, archeology and birds live together in perfect harmony.
You are in the Sicily of Baroque style, so you can't miss the amazing Noto (photo, 30 km's) an Unesco's world heritage.
It's time to eat something and my tip is to do not miss the Pasta alla Norma and to have, at least once, a typical Sicilian breakfast: granita and brioche!
Of course, we suggest enjoying our Silvana's Cooking Class, just few kilometers away from the villa.
And, of course, fish, fish, fish … and do not miss to visit the outdoor fish markets (Riposto, Acitrezza, Catania).
