The Monello Cave, of Karstic origin, set on the lime kilns of Mount Climiti, has a developed complex of 540 meters and is rich in concretions such as stalactites and stalagmites of various forms: tubes, eccentric, jellyfish, columns and small vessels.

The cave fauna is represented by small colonies of large horseshoe bats, that are protected in Europe.

At the entrance to the cave is an endemic species, exclusively Iblean, of nettle (Urtica rupeastris), with almost no prickling thorns.
